For nearly a decade, I’ve been searching for the best non-stick frying pan for years. Unfortunately, like most homeowners, my choice of frying pans has been limited by my budget. In the past, I’ve seen countless claims of pans being non-stick, and usually, their claims fall flat. All of them have left me disappointed.
So when Carote offered me a chance to test out their new granite non-stick frying pan. I didn’t have high hopes. But as an eternal optimist, I’m always open to new experiences and was happy I gave this a try. So here is my Carote Frying Pan review.

Look and feel of the pan
Typically when we get cookware at the house, no one notices. However, this time was the complete opposite. My family (yes, even the kids) noticed the ice cream granite pan immediately, and all individually remarked, “It’s so pretty!” and they have said that several times with this frying pan.
This pan is made with specially curated Swiss sleek white granite, creating a natural aesthetic for your dining and kitchen space. It’s also all stovetop compatible (yes it’s also induction-stove friendly), so you can enjoy your cooking experience in any kitchen.

Coating
This pan uses Switzerland-made high-quality granite stone delivered coating from ILAG, which delivers exceedingly non-stick & scratch resistance properties. In addition, the 5-ply durable construction and the granite natural mineral coated layer ensure that you will be cooking with some of the finest materials around.
Craftsmanship
For such a simple-looking pan, a lot is going on. The pan is durable and has a no rivet design so that food won’t get stuck inside the pan (which makes for faster clean-up).
More importantly, because there is no metal in the pan, there is no risk of metal leaching into the food, which provides a healthier cooking experience.
The base is magnetic conductive so that it can work on all types of stovetops, including induction cooktops! Then, of course, there is the handle.

Bakelite handle
The Bakelite handle is comfortable to grip and stays cool while cooking. They included a wooden spatula since metal can damage the cooking surface, and it matches the Bakelite handle.
What impressed me was the balance with the handle relative to the pan, some pans are harder to hold (anyone with a large cast-iron pan will know what I’m talking about), but this one had excellent weight distribution.
Cooking
The Carote Frying Pan is the perfect solution for anyone who loves to cook. It is specially designed to be used on all types of cooktops, including gas, electric, and induction.
The only hitch is that the instruction says to lift it up rather than dragging it across the cooktop so you don’t scratch it (we have a glass cooktop), but that’s more of a glass top issue than this span specifically.
Less Oil Needed with Carote Frying Pan

The Egg Test
For years I have watched infomercials (I’m up late) advertising that you can cook an egg without oil in a myriad of pans. None of them have been as claimed. To be fair many do it with the right oil (I find Canola to work better than olive oil when it comes to eggs and stickiness). But none of them can do it without oil.
Until today! The Carote frying pan not only cooked an egg without oil, but I was actually able to watch the egg slide around in the pan while cooking it and flip it (don’t try this at home, had I been wrong I was cleaning up the egg everywhere).
Yes, I actually cooked an egg without oil in the Carote pan, flipped it without a utensil, and cooked the other side. It’s amazing.
That alone is worth the very affordable price of this frying pan.
The Healthiest Pan in the Kitchen
Made with Switzerland ILAG non-stick granite material, this skillet is 100% free of PFOS, and PFOA, and ensures your daily cooking is always safer and healthier. Add in the fact that I was able to cook an egg without any oil and this pan just became my new go-to piece in the kitchen.
Drawbacks of the pan
The only downside of the pan that I can see to date is the lack of oven safe-ness. But I have my cast iron pan to do that should I need to. This pan isn’t meant for that and I will happily sacrifice the oven-safe feature for the benefit of being able to cook without oil.
Clean up
The Carote Frying Pans’ non-stick surface makes clean-up a breeze. Just a quick hand wash with some mild detergent and you are good to go.
